i'm 18 years old and just starting learning music hha
well, 2 days ago i brought this new violin ^^
i call her vivi.
why should a violin? idk either hhe
when i was little, dad ask me to go to a music course, but geez, i just too lazy to go... so i decided not to join. but then my friend play the violin, and also my junior in jhs. wew, it's cooool i think

then i saw violin on tv, i also found the anime named Nodame Cantabile thanks to ninoy. that's a good anime, about a girl who goes to a musical academy in Japan. then  i saw a violinist. coooooool i started wanting to master the violin, time goes by, i was accepted in FKH UGM. i joined fb and found a group of maba FKH 2011 and one of my friend's pp is holding the violin. i asked him anythiiiiiing about violin, unfortunately now he is playing flute. but it's ok since 2 days ago, finally, i went to a musical store and bought it :) now, i confuse about how to start studying hha. i just open the youtube and try to understand by myself.

how about music in Islam?
it is controvercial. some people said it is haram, but the other said no, it depends on the person itself.
i agree with the second opinion, music is beautiful right? and Allah loves beauty. unless you are forcing yourself to hear and sing about the hard music which lyric is -obviously-not-good-to-hear-nor-sing-bad lah...
as long as we don't make it as the top priority, forget the obligatory, leave amar makruf and do nahi munkar, it's ok. although it's better to use your time more to read the quran and hadits hhe i forgot the link about the basic of the one that said haram and the opposite, i'll search again later.
